As some of you will already know, the British Embassy, in an attempt to up-date its records on all British Nationals (and other nationalities for which the British Embassy takes responsibility), has recently "launched" a new, electronic registration system known as LOCATE. This system operates on a world-wide basis.

The following nationals, for whom the Embassy also offers Consular services, may also register: British Overseas Territories citizens; Czech Republic, Cyprus, Ireland, Malta, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden; and citizens of unrepresented Commonwealth nations.

All information on LOCATE and how to access and re-register can be found on our website http://www.britishembassy.gov.uk/cambodia If you have not already done so, I'd be grateful if you would, at your earliest convenience, access LOCATE and re-register your presence in Cambodia - even if you have registered comparatively recently. LOCATE supersedes all registrations prior to 1st January 2008. On receipt of your registration, all previous records will be deleted.

The purpose of up-dating our records (world-wide) is so that should there be any sort of emergency or there is the need to advise or inform you of important events, we can do so with the minimum of delay. As well as a central record held in the British Embassy, wardens who between them cover all of Cambodia will also receive copies of the list of those in their area. It is therefore in your best interests that you register your presence with the British Embassy to ensure that we are able to contact you should the need ever arise.
